Lille Team News: Couple of doubts

Lille have a couple of key injury doubts this weekend ahead of the visit of Montpellier with both Gabriel Gudmundsson and Osame Sahraoui both potentially unavailable. Kosovo international attacker Edon Zhegrova remains sidelined with a groin injury.

Montpellier Team News: Fayad suspended

Montpellier midfielder Khalil Fayad is unavailable for this weekend due to suspension. As well as the absence of Fayad from the Stade Pierre-Mauroy, they will also be without injured players such as former Celtic defender Christophe Jullien as well as forward Othmane Maamma.

Predicted XI (3-5-2): Lecomte; Meite, Kouyate, Sagnan; Tchato, Ferri, Chotard, Savanier, Sainte-Luce; Delort, Khazri

Lille vs Montpellier Prediction

Lille shared a 1-1 draw with Borussia Dortmund at the Westfalenstadion in the first-leg of their UEFA Champions League Round of 16 tie in midweek, perhaps making them favourites to progress into the quarter-finals from that tie. However, they can’t really switch off in Ligue 1 as they chase a top four finish once again this season. Montpellier Herault appeared like they may show some fight down at the bottom but that may have now faded with their 4-0 loss at home to Stade Rennais last weekend meaning they have now suffered five successive defeats, sitting five points off the relegation playoff place and seven adrift of safety. Lille, especially with their home advantage, should ease to three points up in the north of France.
