Lille Preview: Frustration for Lille
In the last couple of months, Lille have hit a rocky patch as they slip away from the aforementioned top four and those UEFA Champions League spots. The northerners suffered two defeats in their last three matches in Ligue 1, too, before the international break.
Those defeats, which came against Nantes by a goal to nil and against Paris Saint-Germain by four goals to one, means they have now managed just one win in their last five matches across all competitions given their UEFA Champions League exit at the hands of Borussia Dortmund.
Lens Preview: Will Still’s Lens
English-Belgian coach Will Still, formerly of Stade Brest, has been absent from training and games for Lens due to his wife, English journalist Emma Saunders, being severely ill in hospital and Lens have perhaps used the emotion of that to improve their form.
The visitors headed into the March international break on the back of back-to-back victories. They defeated Olympique de Marseille at Stade Velodrome by a goal to nil before then edging past a previously in-form Stade Rennais side at Stade Bollaert-Delelis.

Lens Team News: Couple of injuries
Ahead of what can be a fierce derby, Lens have a couple of injury concerns such as Jhoanner Chavez and on-loan Martin Satriano, who suffered an ACL injury early in the campaign. Remy Labeau is also a doubt due to a knee issue.

Lille vs Lens Prediction
The Derby du Nord is known for being one of France’s fiercest rivalries and in a league and culture that has seen growing aggressive hooliganism, that presents a picture of potential trouble but a definitely brilliant atmosphere at Stade Pierre-Mauroy. Lille need to rediscover some form and have an abundance of attacking options, whilst Lens should be efficient and controlled on the counter-attack as ever so both teams scoring may well be a good bet for this one in the north of France.
