Key stats

  • The head-to-head record in the previous four World Cup qualifying matches between these teams is level with one win each and two draws. Both of their matches in Libya finished 1-1, most recently in November 2021.
  • Libya have lost only one of their last 16 World Cup qualifying matches in Libya (W9 D6).
  • Angola are unbeaten in their last six World Cup qualifying matches (W1 D5).
  • Angola have won only one of their last 12 World Cup qualifying matches outside of Angola (D5 L6).

Libya vs Angola Prediction

Libya have started their CAF 2026 FIFA World Cup qualification campaign with two victories, a draw and a defeat in their opening four matches with four goals scored and three conceded. They face an Angola side that have scored just twice in four games despite their style.

The Libyans come into this one on the back of a goalless draw with Benin in their most recent outing during the November international break in their final game of 2025 CAF Africa Cup of Nations qualification. It was just a typical representation of their low-scoring and defensive style of football with few goals scored in Libya matches.

Angola have also struggled for goals but have also been able to keep clean sheets, despite manager Pedro Goncalves trying to implement quite an attractive and easier on the eye style of football. Despite scoring just twice in their four games, in which they are unbeaten with a win and three draws, they have conceded just one goal.

Given the respective records of these two sides, it does appear that the best bet would be to side with a low-scoring encounter at the Martyrs of Benina Stadium in Benghazi.

Libya vs Angola Tip: Under 2.5 goals
