Leigh Leopards Team News: Charnley ruled out for spell
Leigh Leopards return to action ten days after beating Wigan away for the first time in over 40 years so they will be buoyed coming into their first home match. They will have to do without Josh Charnley after the winger was risked in that match and was forced off with injury. Darnell McIntosh is another absentee so he joins Ben Nakubuwai on the sidelines.
Squad: David Armstrong, Tesi Niu, Umlya Hanley, Gareth O’Brien, Lachlan Lam, Owen Trout, Edwin Ipape, Robbie Mulhern, Frankie Halton, Jack Hughes, Isaac Liu, Aaron Pene, Alec Tuitavake, Matt Davis, Brad Dwyer, Keanan Brand, Louis Brogan, Ethan O’Neill, Ben McNamara, Bailey Hodgson, AJ Towse
Huddersfield Giants Team News: Richardson recalled to leave Giants short
Huddersfield Giants have been dealt a blow with the new that Hull KR have recalled Danny Richardson after Tyrone May picked up an injury. That leaves Luke Robinson’s men a little short so George Flanagan is expected to come in for him. Harry Rushton also failed a HIA so that means Aidan McGowan and Thomas Deakin come into the squad.
Squad: Jacob Gagai, Adam Swift, Jake Bibby, Tui Lolohea, Oliver Wilson, Zac Woolford, Thomas Burgess, Jack Murchie, Sam Hewitt, Ashton Golding, Matty English, Joe Greenwood, Fenton Rogers, Thomas Deakin, Elliot Wallis, Leroy Cudjoe, Aidan McGowan, Jack Billinton, Connor Carr, George Flanagan, Jack Bibby
Leigh Leopards vs Huddersfield Giants Prediction
Both Leigh Leopards and Huddersfield Giants will have been happy enough with their performances in the opening round last week despite the contrasting results, but they will both want to raise their levels once again here.
Leigh Leopards will have to overcome the emotion of winning at Wigan after so many years but they have been afforded the luxury of a few extra days of rest having played on the Thursday while the Giants played Sunday.
That certainly gives Adrian Lam’s men an advantage coming into this one to rest and get more preparation in for this game.
The handicap is high and while we like Leigh to win here, 12 points is uncomfortable. We suggest going with Leigh straight to win and adding them to an accumulator.
