Leicester Preview: Down with a whimper

Leicester City will be forced into some change this summer with captain Jamie Vardy already announcing he will depart the King Power Stadium after a stellar career with the Foxes, whilst Ruud van Nistelrooy is also anticipated to leave the club at the end of this season.

Leicester have won just two matches during the Van Nistelrooy tenure, which began in early-December, and they come into this one on the back of a 3-0 hammering at the hands of Wolverhampton Wanderers at Molineux last weekend.

Southampton Preview: Simon Rusk’s Saints

In his second stint in charge this season as interim boss, Simon Rusk has once again got the better performances out of Southampton with a simpler and more reactive, realistic game plan and yet Saints are still finding ways to not win games of football.

They were 1-0 up against European chasing Fulham at St Mary’s last weekend due to a 14th minute strike from Jack Stephens before Emile Smith Rowe’s 72nd minute equaliser and then Ryan Sessegnon notched a second-half stoppage-time winner for the Cottagers.

Leicester vs Southampton Prediction

Leicester City have badly struggled both on and off the pitch this season and the Foxes are heading towards a crucial summer that will dictate the future of the club. In contrast, despite the fact that they remain on 11 points and level with Derby County’s record lowest ever Premier League points tally set in the 2007/08 campaign, Saints have shown some improvement of late and appear in a better position off the pitch. Siding with the visitors would be the way to go for this one as they try and move past that unwanted record.

Leicester vs Southampton Tip: Double chance – Southampton to win or draw
