Leicester Preview: Floundering Foxes
The appointment of former Manchester United striker Ruud van Nistelrooy has not gone well at the King Power Stadium. Leicester City begin this weekend’s round of fixtures sitting 12 points adrift of safety with eight games of the campaign to go.
The home team were solid enough in midweek but they still eventually suffered a comfortable 2-0 defeat to Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium thanks to first-half goals from Jack Grealish and Omar Marmoush.
Newcastle Preview: Mesmeric Magpies
Newcastle United ended their long trophy drought just before the March international break by defeating Liverpool by two goals to one at Wembley Stadium to win the EFL Cup and they are now looking to ensure UEFA Champions League qualification in the Premier League.
They continued their challenge for a top five finish in the league with a hard-fought 2-1 defeat of Brentford at St James’ Park up on Tyneside the other day courtesy of goals from Alexander Isak and Sandro Tonali either side of a Bryan Mbeumo equaliser from the penalty spot.
Leicester Team News: Winks fall out
In midweek, Portugal international defender Ricardo Pereira returned to the squad after a fairly long injury layoff. There have been no fresh injury concerns reported but there has been a reported falling out between Van Nistelrooy and Harry Winks.

Leicester vs Newcastle Prediction
Leicester City have endured an awful campaign on the pitch after a difficult summer off it with transfer targets and objectives not being met. A season of struggle was always to be expected and now it appears inevitable that they will be in the second-tier. They now face a Newcastle United side that are expected to use their EFL Cup final triumph as momentum to carry themselves through to the end of the season and a comfortable Magpies victory is to be expected.
