Leganes play a fun and entertaining style of football under Borja Jimenez but that has been ineffective and lacking goals this season as the Madrid-based club welcome Garcia Pimienta’s Sevilla to Butarque at the weekend.

LEGANES PREVIEW: LEGA LACKING
Following promotion to the top-flight last season under the management of Borja Jimenez, Leganes begin the 13th match day of the 2024/25 La Liga campaign sitting outside of the bottom three and the relegation places after a steadier recent run of form but they did suffer a defeat last weekend.
The Madrid-based outfit were involved in a thrilling 4-3 defeat to Girona in Catalonia in a game in which they never led and would have been fortunate to steal a point from. Before that defeat, though, Lega had suffered just one defeat in seven matches across all competitions to push away from the relegation zone.
SEVILLA PREVIEW: IMPROVED SEVILLA
In each of the last two seasons Sevilla have required three permanent managers to eventually push away from the bottom three and the relegation places but the appointment of Las Palmas boss Garcia Pimienta may well end that pattern with a chaotic club off the pitch looking quite steady in the middle-of-the-table.
The Andalusians come into this one on the back of a 2-0 defeat at home to Real Sociedad in the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan in their most recent outing last weekend. Prior to that loss to out of form opposition, Sevilla had suffered just one defeat in six matches across all competitions since returning from the September international break.

SEVILLA TEAM NEWS: DEFENSIVE INJURIES
Sevilla have a couple of key defenders out injured for this weekend’s clash with Leganes as both Loic Bade and Tanguy Nianzou are sidelined at the moment.

LEGANES VS SEVILLA PREDICTION
At the start of this season, there was criticism that Borja Jimenez was chopping and changing too much, not allowing for his attacking squad to attack the league with much consistency. Now, though, they have settled themselves and look regularly potent. They welcome an attacking Sevilla side to Butarque that will also go on the front foot, despite their limitations in terms of the quality of their personnel. Both teams scoring would look a good bet for this one in the Spanish capital.
