Leganes Preview: Out of their Lega
Following promotion back to the top-flight as Segunda champions last season, Leganes have endured a tricky start to the campaign with exciting former Deportivo La Coruna coach Borja Jimenez still at the helm. Los Colchoneros sit in the bottom-half of the table but their proactive style of football has begun to yield some improved results of late.
The Madrid-based club come into this one on the back of a slender 1-0 defeat of Sevilla in their most recent outing at Butarque a couple of weeks ago. Summer signing Miguel de la Fuente scored an 82nd minute winner from the penalty spot after Sevilla midfielder Lucien Agoume had been sent off.
Real Madrid Preview: Issues to iron out
15-time European champions and defending Spanish champions Real Madrid have started the season very weirdly. Their performances, perhaps bar one, have been generally average and quite poor across all competitions yet they sit just six points behind Barcelona at the top-of-the-table with a game-in-hand in La Liga.
That one performance that was very convincing came at the Bernabeu a couple of weeks ago as they responded to a 3-1 loss at home to AC Milan in the UEFA Champions League by hammering Osasuna by four goals to nil thanks to a Vinicius Junior hat-trick and Jude Bellingham’s first goal of the campaign.
Leganes Team News: No Renato Tapia or Enric Franquesa
Attacking midfielder Enric Franquesa has been a key man for Leganes in the last couple of seasons but he suffered a serious injury just before the international break.
As well as the absence of the winger, Leganes are also without key defensive midfielder Renato Tapia, whilst Dani Raba is also an injury doubt for the hosts with a hamstring injury.
Predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Dmitrovic; Andre Altimira, Sergio, Nastasic, Jorge Saenz; Oscar Rodriguez, Cisse; Juan Cruz, Brasanac, Munir; Miguel de la Fuente
Unavailable: Renato Tapia (Injured), Enric Franquesa (Injured)
Questionable: Dani Raba (Injured)
Real Madrid Team News: Mini injury crisis
Real Madrid have something of an injury crisis, especially in defensive positions, and that means they are likely to make acquisitions during the January transfer window.
The likes of Eder Militao and David Alaba remain sidelined alongside Dani Carvajal with Aurelien Tchouameni also missing for this weekend due to a sprained ankle.
Predicted XI (4-3-3): Lunin; Lucas Vazquez, Raul Asencio, Rudiger, Fran Garcia; Fede Valverde, Camavinga, Bellingham; Guler, Mbappe, Vinicius Junior
Unavailable: Jacobo (Injured), Militao (Injured), Alaba (Injured), Dani Carvajal (Injured), Lucas Vazquez (Injured), Tchouameni (Injured), Rodrygo (Injured)

Leganes vs Real Madrid Prediction
With an impressive and progressive style of football, Leganes underwhelmed at the start of this season but the Madrid-based club have been much-improved of late as they try and push away from the danger zone. They will play an attacking style against a fragile and potentially vulnerable Los Blancos side at Butarque so both teams scoring may well be a good bet but Madrid remain firm favourites for this one.
