Leganes Preview: Struggling Lega

Leganes come into this one on the back of a poor performance up in the Basque Country in which they were beaten 3-0 by Real Sociedad at the Reale Arena due to goals from Arsen Zakharyan, Takefusa Kubo and Joan Olasagasti.

Lega begin this weekend’s round of fixtures sitting just outside of the bottom three and the relegation places by a couple of places and just a solitary point after what is now a six-match winless run of form across all competitions.

Getafe Preview: Belligerent Getafe

Unlike Leganes, Getafe have timed their run to climb away from the bottom three and the relegation places to perfection. However, Jose Bordalas’ side do come into this one on the back of a 2-1 loss at home to Manuel Pellegrini’s in-form Real Betis at the Coliseum last weekend.

Getafe have been strong and difficult to beat, though, especially away from home. Prior to that loss to Betis last week, the visitors had collected 14 points from their previous six matches in La Liga.

Leganes Team News: Couple of suspensions

The hosts are dealing with a couple of key suspensions for this weekend with the experienced Renato Tapia and Morocco international Munir both unavailable. Former Rangers left-back Borna Barisic is still injured alongside fellow left-sided defender Enric Franquesa.

Predicted XI (5-3-2): Dmitrovic; Andre Altimira, Rosier, Sergio, Nastasic, Juan Cruz; Neyou, Cisse, Oscar; Dani Raba, Diego Garcia

Unavailable: Barisic (Injured), Renato Tapia (Suspended), Enric Franquesa (Injured), Munir (Suspended)

Questionable:

Getafe Team News: Domingos Duarte suspended

Getafe have a couple of issues for this weekend’s trip to Leganes with a small squad but they have been able to welcome back Christantus Uche, who has been deployed out of position in attack. Domingos Duarte is unavailable as he deals with suspension.

Predicted XI (4-4-2): David Soria; Nyom, Djene, Omar Alderete, Diego Rico; Jorge Iglesias, Ramon Terrats, Mauro Arambarri, Juan Bernat; Borja Mayoral, Juanmi

Unavailable: Domingos Duarte (Suspended)

Questionable: Luis Milla (Injured)

Leganes vs Getafe Prediction

Leganes have tweaked their system back to a back three recently but that hasn’t really paid dividends with Lega most recently being hammered by Real Sociedad at the Reale Arena. The capital city club have scored just 22 goals in 25 La Liga games with only two teams scoring fewer than them and, one of those, is indeed Getafe. Getafe’s improved form has mainly come away from home when the onus is on the opposition to take the game to them so a good value bet would be to side with Jose Bordalas’ side in a low-scoring affair.

Leganes vs Getafe Tip: Getafe to win & under 3.5 goals
