Lecce Preview: Lacklustre Lecce

Lecce pulled off something of a great escape in Serie A last season under the management of Luca Gotti but he has since been sacked and replaced by Marco Giampaoli but performances and results have stagnated since a bright start to the Giampaolo reign.

The Apulia-based club come into this one on the back of a 2-1 defeat to Juventus at the Allianz Stadium in Turin last weekend in a game in which they were 2-0 down inside 33 minutes before scoring a late consolation goal via Federico Baschirotto.

Como Preview: Cesc’s Como

In Como’s 32 Serie A matches have consisted of 88 goals and they have been entertaining to watch throughout the campaign under the management of Cesc Fabregas on the back of a couple of impressive transfer windows in the summer and the winter.

Como come into this one on the back of back-to-back victories, too, most recently defeating Torino by a goal to nil at Stadio Giuseppe Sinigaglia thanks to a 38th minute strike from Greece international attacker Anastasios Douvikas.

Lecce Team News: Jean now out

Lecce are now without defender Gaby Jean for this weekend due to a knee injury. He now joins on the injury list for this weekend such as Spanish midfielder Joan Gonzalez and Polish midfielder Filip Marchwinski.

Predicted XI (3-4-2-1): Falcone; Baschirotto, Gaspar, Guilbert; Veiga, Coulibaly, Pierret, Gallo; Pierotti, Tete Morente; Krstovic

Unavailable: Jean (Injured), Joan Gonzalez (Injured), Marchwinski (Injured)

Como Team News: Sergi Roberto a doubt

Como defender Alberto Dossena remains sidelined for Como this weekend due to a knee injury. As well as the absence of Dossena, the visitors are also likely to remain without former versatile Barcelona midfielder Sergi Roberto due to a thigh issue.

Predicted XI (4-3-3): Butez; Vojvoda, Goldaniga, Kempf, Alberto Moreno; Da Cunha, Maximo Perrone, Caqueret; Ikone, Douvikas, Diao

Unavailable: Dossena (Injured)

Questionable: Sergi Roberto (Injured)

Lecce vs Como Prediction

Lecce are the lowest scorers in Serie A with just 23 goals scored in their 32 matches, whilst Como have already notched more than every other team in the bottom-half of the division. Lecce’s 2-1 defeat to Juventus last weekend now means they are winless in their last nine matches. They now face a Como side that will be expected to take the game to Lecce as they often do and the poor form of the hosts makes the visitors the favourites for this weekend.

Lecce vs Como Tip: Double chance – Como to win or draw
