Learner Tien vs Joao Fonseca Prediction

Learner Tien comes into day two full of confidence after managing to pull off an outstanding win over Jakub Mensik on Wednesday. The American withstood Mensik’s barrage of aces (24) to grind out a five-setter and the most impressive part of the match was that Tien won all three tiebreaks in the crunch moments.

That will give him plenty of confidence coming into day two where he meets Joao Fonseca. The young Brazilian can be proud of his performance on Wednesday as he stunned Arthur Fils in style.

In another match that went all five sets, Fonseca showed great quality but superb mentality too to withstand Fils’ pressure and win out.

Those two performances make for a really interesting match here and there is little to choose between the two players. This could very well go the distance once again and we fully expect both players to win at least a set. Our marginal preference goes to Fonseca but it could easily go either way.
