Learner Tien vs Daniil Medvedev Prediction

19-year-old American talent Learner Tien won his first-ever match in the main draw of a Grand Slam as he won a five-set thriller against Camilo Ugo.

The youngster came through three rounds of qualifying and his win over Ugo means he now faces fifth seed Daniil Medvedev in what will be a fascinating second-round match.

Medvedev was also involved in a five-setter as Thai wildcard Kasidit Samrej was leading 2-1 but the big Russian eventually fought back to progress.

Medvedev’s lack of consistency within a match threatened to see him eliminated and he is going to have to tune in and focus better if he is to go far this year.

He now faces Tien who has far more potential than Samrej. Tien can pose him plenty of issues and we can see him taking at least a set off the Russian if not more. It is hard to go against Medvedev but consider set betting here.
