Le Havre Preview: In the battle

Former Middlesbrough midfielder Didier Digard replaced Luka Elsner and he remains in charge of the Normandy-based outfit despite the fact they remain in the bottom three. They have managed just six victories in their 26 matches so far this season.

The home team most recently suffered a 4-2 loss to Olympique Lyonnais at Parc OL a couple of weeks ago in a game in which they were 2-1 up at half-time before late strikes from Malick Fofana, Georges Mikautadze and Thiago Almada.

Nantes Preview: Also in the battle

Nantes have been subject to supporter protests throughout the campaign with the Canaries seemingly circling the drain but they do have a six-point lead over Le Havre ahead of the 27th match day of the 2024/25 Ligue 1 campaign.

Under the management of Antoine Kombouare, the Canaries do come into this one on the back of a slender 1-0 defeat of Lille at Stade de la Beaujoire a couple of weeks ago courtesy of a Mostafa Mohamed winner late on despite Jean-Charles Castelletto being sent off.

Le Havre Team News: Key doubts

Le Havre are dealing with a few injury concerns ahead of the visit of Nantes this weekend such as Fode Ballo-Toure, Arouna Sangante, Daren Mosengo and Yann Kitala, whilst Andy Logbo remains sidelined due to a shoulder injury.

Predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Gorgelin; Nego, Kinkoue, Lloris, Pembele; Toure, Mwanga; Casimir, Kechta, Soumare; Ayew

Unavailable: Logbo (Injured)

Questionable: Ballo-Toure (Injured), Sangante (Injured), Mosengo (Injured), Kitala (Injured)

Nantes Team News: Castelletto suspension

Cameroonian international defender Jean-Charles Castelletto is missing through suspension for this weekend as a result of his red card last weekend. They also have some key doubts in terms of injuries such as Nathan Zeze and Tino Kadewere.

Predicted XI (4-3-3): Lopes; Coco, Sow, Pallois, Cozza; Douglas Augusto, Pedro Chirivella, Leroux; Thomas, Abline, Simon

Unavailable: Castelletto (Suspended), Mahamoud (Injured)

Questionable: Zeze (Injured), Centonze (Injured), Kadewere (Injured)

Le Havre vs Nantes Prediction

Le Havre have shown signs of being able to play a proactive and attacking style of football. Didier Digard is a young coach but has a clear identity, albeit he hasn’t necessarily been able to implement that with much relative success. They now take on a Nantes side that are very defensive but will fancy their chances of scoring against what is a poor defensive record so, as a result, both teams scoring may well be a good bet for this one at Stade Oceane.
