LAZIO PREVIEW: EXCELLENT LAZIO

The appointment of Marco Baroni over the summer was one greeted with a fair bit of scepticism from Lazio supporters but he had performed a miracle to keep Hellas Verona up last season and, after a slow start to the campaign, things have certainly turned around.

The home team come into this one on the back of a 5-1 demolition of Como in their most recent outing away from home in midweek. That victory came off the back of back-to-back-to-nil wins against Twente and Genoa, too, making it seven wins in eight matches across all competitions.

CAGLIARI PREVIEW: STEADIED SARDINIANS

The retirement of Claudio Ranieri at the end of last season promoted Cagliari to poach the main firefighter of Serie A, Davide Nicola, from Empoli. After a slow start to the campaign which involved supporter unrest and protest, Cagliari have improved.

Seven points from three matches in early October helped them climb away from the bottom three and the relegation places but the Sardinians have now suffered back-to-back 2-0 defeats against Udinese and Bologna.

LAZIO TEAM NEWS: NO NUNO

Nuno Tavares is enjoying an excellent season for Lazio but he is now missing through suspension, whilst Tijjani Noslin available domestically despite UEFA imposing a three-match ban in the UEFA Europa League.

PREDICTED XI (4-2-3-1): Provedel; Marusic, Gila, Patric, Pellegrini; Guendouzi, Matias Vecino; Isaksen, Pedro, Noslin; Valentin Castellanos

UNAVAILABLE: Tavares (Suspended), Rovella (Injured), Zaccagni (Illness)

QUESTIONABLE:

CAGLIARI TEAM NEWS: COUPLE OF DOUBTS

Cagliari can name an unchanged eleven for this weekend with no confirmed injury absentees but both Jakub Jankto and Kingstone Mutandwa are injury doubts for Cagliari.

PREDICTED XI (4-4-2): Scuffet; Zappa, Palomino, Luperto, Obert; Zortea, Prati, Marin, Gaetano; Viola, Piccoli

UNAVAILABLE:

QUESTIONABLE: Jankto (Injured), Mutandwa (Injured)

LAZIO VS CAGLIARI PREDICTION

This one is expected to be a lobsided affair at the Stadio Olimpico. Lazio do have UEFA Europa League commitments to attend to in midweek but such is the new format they are basically through in that so can rest and rotate here still if they so choose. Cagliari have struggled for any consistency or form at the moment, despite their mini spurt about a month or so ago and a comfortable Lazio win is to be expected, especially with their home advantage.

LAZIO VS CAGLIARI TIP: LAZIO TO WIN -1 HANDICAP
