Laslo Djere vs Jaime Faria Prediction

Laslo Djere comes into this quarter-final in strong form having cantered to two straight-sets victories so far and he will be confident of going far this week.

The Serb 29-year-old is well rested after skipping Rio last week and he looks fresh right now. His 6-1 6-4 win over Pedro Martinez was particularly impressive and he will take some stopping this week.

He takes on Portugal’s Jaime Faria and the 21-year-old is coming of an excellent week in Rio where he came through qualifying to make it to the quarters before losing to Camilo Ugo. Faria beat some quality players last week and that is clearly giving him confidence in Santiago this week.

The pair have never met before and that only adds intrigue coming into this clash. We favour Djere’s experience and the fact he should be the fresher of the two players. Faria should not be underestimated but we think he falls short in this one.
