Las Palmas Preview: Las Palmas struggles

In October Las Palmas were winless and decided to part company with Luis Carrion. Former Granada manager Diego Martinez led them towards the middle-of-the-table but things have taken a turn since the turn of the year as they plunge back into trouble.

The Canary Islanders managed to earn their third draw in their last four matches at Balaidos in Galicia last weekend with Alfon’s first-half stoppage-time opener for Celta Vigo cancelled out by Alberto Moleiro shortly after the half-time interval.

Real Sociedad Preview: The real La Real

Under the management of Imanol Aguacil, Real Sociedad have one of the most intense and aggressive pressing styles of any club in European football but the Basque giants often drift, however they haven’t even had good enough form to drift from this season.

They did, though, manage to defeat Real Valladolid by two goals to one last weekend before heartache in the semi-finals of the Copa del Rey, heading through in the 84th minute against Real Madrid then rescuing extra-time but then losing in that extra-time at the Bernabeu.

Las Palmas Team News: No Cillessen

Frustratingly for Las Palmas, they will now be without number one goalkeeper Jasper Cillessen due to an Abdomen issue. They also remain without the likes of Andy Pelmard, Benito as well as Kirian Rodriguez.

Predicted XI (3-4-1-2): Horkas; Stefan Bajcetic, Juanma Herzog, McKenna; Viti, Javier Munoz, Jose Campana, Mika Marmol; Alberto Moleiro; Silva, McBurnie

Unavailable: Cillessen (Injured), Pelmard (Injured), Benito (Injured), Kirian Rodriguez (Illness)

Real Sociedad Team News: A few doubts

Real Sociedad have a few key injury doubts for this weekend’s trip to Estadio Gran Canaria. Morocco international defender Nayef Ageurd is a possible absentee alongside the likes of Arsen Zakharyan and Sheraldo Becker.

Predicted XI (4-1-4-1): Alex Remiro; Traore, Igor Zubeldia, Aritz Elustondo, Javi Lopez; Martin Zubimendi; Kubo, Julen Olasagasti, Pablo Marin, Sergio Gomez; Mikel Oyarzabal

Unavailable: Brais Mendez (Injured)

Questionable: Ageurd (Injured), Jon Pacheco (Injured), Zakharyan (Injured), Becker (Injured)

Las Palmas vs Real Sociedad Prediction

Las Palmas have been struggling for a few months now and the pressure is growing on the Canary Islanders. However, they have perhaps turned their form around of late or at least shown good signs of improvement. They face a Real Sociedad side that may well be both emotionally and physically fatigued with perhaps the end of their season in midweek at Bernabeu so given the signs of improvement and their home advantage, siding with Las Palmas may well be a good bet for this one.

Las Palmas vs Real Sociedad Tip: Double chance – Las Palmas to win or draw
