Kim Huybrechts vs Keane Barry Prediction

Belgian veteran Kim Huybrechts will be aiming to continue his record of progressing to at least the second round in this competition since 2018.

His form in 2024 however has seen something of a decline as he has failed to surpass or reach the same round of previous years and he has failed to qualify for a number of events also. The 39-year-old is ranked 41 in the world coming into this year’s tournament – the joint-lowest (with 2019) he has been since 2011.

He faces 22-year-old Irish talent Keane Barry in the first round who is ranked 52 in the world. This is his sixth appearance at Ally Pally and he has previously reached the second round twice in 2022 and 2024.

We favour Barry in this one especially as the underdog. There is good value on him against a player who is on the decline. Our preferred play here however is on set betting and we can see this going all the way.
