Kevin Holland: Vet coming off three losses in last four bouts
Kevin Holland (26-12 with one no contest) has not had the easiest time of it in recent fights as he has lost three of his last four and five of his last eight. The 39-fight veteran has produced seven Performance of the Night displays but there are signs that father time is catching up on the ever-popular fighter. He comes off a TKO defeat at the hands of Roman Dolidze in October and he needs a win to halt this slide.
Reinier de Ridder: Former ONE champion looking to make impact in UFC
Reinier de Ridder (18-2) won on his UFC debut last time out against compatriot Gerald Meerschaert as he submitted him in the third back in November. It is a quick turnaround for the former ONE champion and he will be keen to kick on in the middleweight division. He has only ever lost to one opponent – Anatoly Malykhin twice – and he will be confident of producing another winning display here against Holland.
Kevin Holland vs Reinier de Ridder Prediction
Kevin Holland is rarely involved in boring fights and this bout against Reinier de Ridder has all the hallmarks of a Fight of the Night.
De Ridder won on his UFC debut against Meerschaert and he will relish the opportunity to face another established veteran that the organisation throws at him.
He has an impressive record and he is an excellent technician. With Holland struggling in recent fights and slowing down a little, De Ridder should have too much gas in the tank and be too good technically for him.
We expect De Ridder to get the win but stopping Holland will not be easy. We think this one goes the distance and De Ridder gets another win in the Octagon.
Prediction: Reinier de Ridder to win by decision
