Kevin Doets vs Krzysztof Ratajski Prediction
Kevin Doets produced one of the shocks of the second round by eliminating former world champion Michael Smith, with the Dutchman eventually prevailing 6-4 in a dramatic deciding set.
The 26-year-old averaged 96.9 in that contest but has produced even better darts on TV this year, averaging just shy of 110 in the World Series of Darts Finals in September.
31st seed Krzysztof Ratajski went straight into the second round and held off a spirited performance from Filipino thrower Alexis Toylo. ‘The Polish Eagle’ scored fairly heavily throughout that encounter and was typically efficient on the outer ring, hitting 55% of his attempts at a double.
Ratajski is a formidable competitor and highly experienced on the Ally Pally stage. Indeed, the Pole reached the last eight in 2021, but it’s fair to say that he’s not quite the player he was that year, when he reached five major quarter-finals. Doets will be full of confidence after eliminating Michael Smith and we’re backing him to see off Ratajski’s stubborn resistance.
