Katie Boulter vs Jasmine Paolini prediction

Katie Boulter got her clay court season off to a really good start with a win over Katerina Siniakova. She lost the first set but recovered well to win 4-6 6-2 6-1 and set up a second-round match with Jasmine Paolini.

Paolini made a very encouraging run at the Stuttgart Open, defeating Coco Gauff in the quarters but just coming up short against Aryna Sabalenka in the semi-final. She is yet to win a WTA title on clay but her run to the final of the French Open last year is a warning to all of just how dangerous a player she can be.

The head-to-head is 2-2 between the pair but this is the first time they have played on clay. Their last three encounters have been within the last three years, with Paolini defeating Boulter at Indian Wells in 2022 and a quarter-final at Eastbourne last year while the Brit got the better of the Italian at the Linz Open in early 2024.

Boulter did well in her first-round match but Paolini should have too much for her.
