Karolina Kowalkiewicz: Polish star in twilight of career

Karolina Kowalkiewicz (16-8) is in the twilight of her career at the age of 39 but she had four wins in a row prior to a decision loss last time out. She dropped a unanimous decision to Iasmin Lucindo at UFC 301 in May but she will look to bounce back here against the up-and-coming Denise Gomes.

Denise Gomes: Brazilian pocket-rocket looking for statement win

Denise Gomes (9-3) has enjoyed some ups and downs since she made it into the UFC but she will be hoping of a statement win here. She faces the biggest name of her career in Kowalkiewicz and she will be hoping to showcase her skillset in this one. She comes off a split decision win over Eduarda Moura in June and will now be looking to build some momentum in the strawweight division.

Karolina Kowalkiewicz vs Denise Gomes Prediction

Karolina Kowalkiewicz is facing a fighter 14 years her junior here and it will be interesting to see how she copes with the dynamic Denise Gomes.

The Polish veteran has continued to perform at an effective level but this will be a tough test for her against Gomes.

Gomes has good power and that has transitioned into the UFC as she already has a couple of knockout wins under he belt. We do not see her knocking Kowalkiewicz out, but she should have enough power and energy to slow her down and get the win.

Prediction: Denise Gomes to win
