Karen Khachanov vs Holger Rune prediction

Karen Khachanov picked up a brilliant win in the quarter-finals, defeating an in-form Alejandro Davidovich Fokina 6-4 7-5. The Spaniard was 5-2 up in the second set but Khachanov roared back to reel off five straight games and make his first semi-final of the season.

He now takes on Holger Rune as he produced one of his best recent performances to take down last year’s champion Casper Ruud. Rune was rarely troubled as he won 6-4 6-2 against the Norwegian. He raced into a 4-0 lead in the first set before being pegged back but ultimately sealing the set, and claimed a double break in the second to easily win as he eyes a return to the top 10.

Rune played one of his best matches of the season and seems to have regrouped this week after illness had curtailed his Monte-Carlo campaign. Khachanov picked up an impressive win of his own and is able to grind away, but we’re backing Rune to make his second final in four tournaments.
