Karen Khachanov vs Cameron Norrie prediction

Karen Khachanov was on the losing side during his slugfest with compatriot Daniil Medvedev in the first-round of Monte-Carlo. He had opportunities to win but eventually was defeated 7-5 4-6 6-4. He must take some encouragement from aspects of his performance during that match and look to focus on those as he searches for a deep run in a tournament for the first time in a while.

He takes on Cameron Norrie, who managed to get through qualifying with wins over Hugo Gaston and Damir Dzumhur. Norrie has struggled for form all season, with his best finish being a quarter-final appearance at the Delray Beach Open in February. His early clay season hasn’t been particularly inspiring either, as he failed to make it out of qualifying for Monte-Carlo.

Khachanov leads the head-to-head 4-3, while it’s 2-2 on clay, with the Russian winning the two most recent encounters on the surface at Roland Garros three years ago and in Monte-Carlo in 2024. The Briton has declined over the last year due to injury and loss of form, and we don’t think he’ll prove to be much of a problem for Khachanov.
