Juventus Preview: Juve pushing for the top four

During the March international break, following a 4-0 defeat to Atalanta and then a 3-0 loss to Fiorentina, Juventus decided to part company with Thiago Motta and replace him with former Juve player Igor Tudor on a deal initially until the end of the season.

The Old Lady returned from the break by grinding out a slender 1-0 victory in Tudor’s first game in charge against his former Juventus teammate Patrick Vieira and his Genoa side before then sharing a 1-1 draw with Roma at the Stadio Olimpico in the capital city last weekend.

Lecce Preview: Languishing Lecce

Under the management of Marco Giampaolo, who replaced Luca Gotti earlier this season, Lecce begin this weekend’s round of fixtures sitting just outside of the bottom three and the relegation places after a disappointing campaign thus far.

They remain the lowest scorers in the division, too, with just 22 goals scored in their 31 games. They did manage to fight back from a goal down at home to fellow strugglers Venezia in Apulia last weekend to share a 1-1 draw with the Venetians.

Juventus Team News: Several issues

Juventus’ back-up goalkeeper Mattia Perin is sidelined for this weekend alongside key defenders such as Bremer, Federico Gatti and Juan Cabal, whilst experienced Poland international striker Arkadiusz Milik has suffered a setback.

Predicted XI (3-4-2-1): Di Gregorio; Kalulu, Veiga, Kelly; McKennie, Locatelli, Thuram, Weah; Yildiz, Gonzalez; Vlahovic

Unavailable: Perin (Injured), Bremer (Injured), Gatti (Injured), Juan Cabal (Injured), Milik (Injured)

Questionable:

Lecce Team News: Couple of injuries

Lecce have no fresh injury concerns or suspension issues to deal with for this weekend’s trip to the J Stadium with just a couple of issues remaining in the midfield such as Joan Gonzalez and Filip Marchwinski.

Predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Falcone; Guilbert, Gaspar, Baschirotto, Gallo; Coulibaly, Ramadani; Pierotti, Helgason, Tete Morente; Krstovic

Unavailable: Joan Gonzalez (Injured), Marchwinski (Injured)

Juventus vs Lecce Prediction

Juventus have tried to play a more progressive style of football with quite an attacking and cohesive game plan under Motta but they have still struggled for consistency and especially goal scoring with an over complicated style and an overthinking in the final third. They now face the lowest scorers in the division so it is highly unlikely that this is a thriller for the neutral but Juventus, especially at home, should still come out on top in this one in Turin.

Juventus vs Lecce Tip: Juventus to win & under 3.5 goals
