Juventus Preview: The mess of Juventus

In the summer, Juventus decided to try and become a completely new club with a younger squad and a more dynamic approach with the appointment of Thiago Motta but Motta, after a horrible 2025, has been sacked over the March international break.

The last couple of months has consisted of Juventus being knocked out of the UEFA Champions League by PSV Eindhoven, the Coppa Italia by Empoli and have slipped out of the top four, most recently losing 3-0 away to Fiorentina in Florence a couple of weeks ago.

Genoa Preview: Solidity under Vieira

Patrick Vieira was a surprising appointment to replace the unfortunate Alberto Gilardino during the November international break and their form has actually majorly improved, launching themselves into the middle-of-the-table with an impressive defensive record.

The visitors come into this one on the back of a 2-1 defeat of struggling Lecce at the Luigi Ferraris in their most recent outing a couple of weeks ago before the March international break thanks to a first-half brace scored by Fabio Miretti.

Juventus Team News: Cambiaso and Douglas Luiz doubts

Reported Manchester City target Andrea Cambiaso is a doubt for Juve due to an ankle injury, whilst former Aston Villa midfielder Douglas Luiz is also a major doubt. Arkadiusz Milik has been a long-term absentee but is inching towards full fitness.

Predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Di Gregorio; Weah, Kalulu, Veiga, Kelly; Thuram, Locatelli; McKennie, Koopmeiners, Gonzalez; Kolo Muani

Unavailable: Bremer (Injured), Juan Cabal (Injured)

Questionable: Cambiaso (Injured), Douglas Luiz (Injured), Milik (Injured)

Genoa Team News: Aaron Martin suspended

Spanish full-back Aaron Martin is missing through suspension for Genoa this weekend, whilst Mario Balotelli remains unavailable to play due to his relationship with Patrick Vieira. They also have key attacking doubts such as Maxwel Cornet, Vitinha, Caleb Ekuban and Junior Messias.

Predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Leali; Sabelli, De Winter, Johan Vasquez, Caricol; Masini, Frendrup; Zanoli, Malinovskiy, Miretti; Pinamonti

Unavailable: Aaron Martin (Suspended), Balotelli (Out of favour)

Questionable: Bani (Injured), Thorsby (Injured), Cornet (Injured), Vitinha (Injured), Junior Messias (Injured), Ekuban (Injured)

Juventus vs Genoa Prediction

Juventus may well stumble upon some much-needed freedom under the management of the attacking and proactive Igor Tudor, who did improve Lazio in the final couple of months of last season. They now face a Genoa side that are in good form but the lack of attacking thrust and attacking options mean they are quite limited for games such as these and an opening game win for Tudor and Juventus looks likely here.

Juventus vs Genoa Tip: Juventus to win & under 3.5 goals
