Juncheng Shang vs Nishesh Basavareddy Prediction

Juncheng Shang got off to a disappointing start on Wednesday as he went down 3-4 4-2 1-4 3-4 to Luca Van Assche. It was a competitive game but unforced errors killed Juncheng’s chances of winning. At times, he played some glorious winners and looked to take control after winning the second set but it was Van Assche who was the more composed of the two as Juncheng’s errors cost him.

He meets Nishesh Basavareddy who will have been the happier of the two opening day losers. He went down to Alex Michelsen but it was a close-fought match which saw Basavareddy win the opening set but lose the next two on the tiebreak. Overall, he played really well and the fact he has been so active on the Challenger Tour with no real break was clear to see. He has good energy and momentum from his recent performances and he will aim to put in another good display here.

In theory, this should be Juncheng Shang’s match to lose but he managed to do that on Wednesday by committing a huge number of unforced errors. We really liked the look to Basavareddy but we cannot see Juncheng Shang playing as poorly as he did on Wednesday so we marginally favour the Chinese star.

Juncheng Shang vs Nishesh Basavareddy Tip: Juncheng Shang to win
