Julia Avila: 36-year-old aiming to bounce back from Miesha Tate loss

Julia Avila (9-3) has fought just once since June 2021 due to the birth of her daughter so the veteran bantamweight will be forgiven for being a little rusty in this fight. She returned to action after 27 months out in December 2023 and was submitted by Miesha Tate and 15 months later she now returns once again to face Jacqueline Cavalcanti.

Jacqueline Cavalcanti: Brazilian looking to make it seven wins in a row

Jacqueline Cavalcanti (8-1) has been on a tear in the last few years as she is riding a six-fight win streak. Three of those came in other promotions but she earned her shot in the UFC and has carried that form into the organisation winning all three of her fights in the Octagon. Her last two wins have both come via split decisions but she was just on the right side of the decision and she will now look to continue this momentum she has.

Julia Avila vs Jacqueline Cavalcanti Prediction

There is plenty on the line for both Julia Avila and Jacqueline Cavalcante here as the winner will likely break into the top ten in the UFC rankings for the women’s bantamweight division.

Avila has had some good times throughout her career but after such a period of inactivity, it is hard to see her troubling Cavalcanti.

Cavalcanti has been active and has been winning fights. She should have the edge in sharpness and it is hard to see any route in which Avila manages to win this.

Prediction: Jacqueline Cavalcanti to win by decision
