Jule Niemeier vs Jasmine Paolini prediction

Jasmine Paolini made a statement of intent with a crushing opening win in Stuttgart. 

The 2024 French Open finalist dropped just three games as she made short work of German wildcard Eva Lys. 

It sets the Italian up for a third career-meeting with another German wildcard, Jule Niemeier, after the world number 121 came from a set down to outlast her veteran compatriot Laura Siegemund. 

Paolini has the greater variety and the sharper movement to go along with that fizzing forehand and if her previous match is anything to go by, she is enjoying the conditions in Stuttgart. 

The fifth seed won their previous two meetings back in 2022 when they were both ranked in the 70s. Since then Paolini has made massive strides while Niemeier has gone in the opposite direction.
