We have two knockout specialists next up on the prelims at UFC on ESPN 64 as the powerful Jose Medina text on the big-punching Cameroonian Ateba Abega Gautier.
Both of these fighters are recent graduates from Dana White's Contender Series but the 32-year-old Bolivian Medina lost on his UFC debut last time out in August. He saw a unanimous decision go in favour of his opponent Zachary Reese and he will be desperate to get his first win in the Octagon under his belt here.
That will not be straightforward against the formidable Gautier who is nicknamed ‘The Silent Assassin’. The 22-year-old has won his last five fights by knockout and he earns his shot in the UFC after beating Yura Naito in the Contender Series last September.
Gautier has some scary power at his disposal and it will be interesting to see how he gets on at this level. Medina’s best chance maybe to try to take him down look getting involved in a stand-up war will not be good for his health.
We like Gautier to get the win here and we fully expect a knockout win.
