Joe Cullen vs Wessel Nijman Prediction
Joe Cullen may be 23rd in the PDC Order of Merit but you could argue that he comes into this match as the underdog despite him being the seeded player. This is largely due to how big of a breakthrough year Wessel Nijman has had on the circuit, combined with the Dutchman showing nerves of steel in the opening round of the World Championship.
Nijman threw a perfect 139 checkout in the very first leg, an early demonstration of his class, but what was just as important was him standing up to Carolissen’s big challenge and coming through in the crunch.
After throwing seven 180s in the last round, Nijman is expected to pound that treble once again and Cullen is more than good enough to respond. We could be in for another thriller between these two players, but backing over 9.5 maximums may well be the smart play.
Joe Cullen vs Wessel Nijman Tip: Over 9.5 total 180s
