Cam Norrie meets Jiri Lehecka for the fifth time hoping to maintain his good record against the Czech star.

The Brit leads the head-to-head 3-1 and was a 3-6 6-4 7-5 victor at Indian Wells earlier this year.

This will be their first showdown on clay after Norrie overcame illness to sink Spanish wildcard Martin Landaluce 6-7 7-5 6-4.

Much will depend upon how fit and healthy the Brit is following his first-round troubles and his issues certainly have us leaning towards Lehecka.

The 26th seed hasn’t made any waves on clay yet this term with just one victory in Monte Carlo coming into Madrid, but he did reach the semi finals here last year and the fast conditions will suit his hefty first serve if can find immediate rhythm.
