Jimmy Crute: Aussie desperate for first win in five bouts

Jimmy Crute (12-4-1) has struggled in recent fights having not won any of his last four. Granted, the Australian has fought quality opponents in Anthony Smith, Jamahal Hill and Alonzo Menifield, while he would likely have lost his other fight had Menifield not had a point deducted in their first fight which ended as a draw. Crute was dominant prior to that in 2020 and before but it is that long since he registered a win in the Octagon.

Rodolfo Bellato: Brazilian looking for fifth win in a row

Rodolfo Bellato (12-2) picked up a win on his UFC debut last time out against Ihor Potieria as he stopped the Ukrainian by TKO so he will be looking to build on that at UFC 312. The Brazilian came through Dana White’s Contender Series in October 2023 at the second time of asking and he then grabbed the win on his debut. That was 15 months ago and he has had some health issues which wrote him off in 2024 but he is desperate to return to action against Crute here.

Jimmy Crute vs Rodolfo Bellato Prediction

This is arguably the hardest fight on the entire card to call as Jimmy Crute faces Rodolfo Bellato.

Crute is the more experienced fighter and has been fighting at a high level for several years now but with little success. The fact he has not won a fight since 2020 is hard to ignore and it is tough to make a case for him.

Bellato has enjoyed some success but at a much lower level. He will likely have the confidence behind him that Crute will not but the question is whether he is good enough at the upper echelon of the UFC.

Bellato does have some pedigree behind him as a former LFA Light Heavyweight champion and it will be interesting to see how he fares against Crute.

This is one of those bouts that could be pretty explosive. Crute will have a real desperation in his approach and we like the chances of a stoppage here while having a marginal preference for Bellato to win.

Prediction: Fight will not go the distance
