Jim Williams vs Paolo Nebrida Prediction
Jim Williams is well-established on the PDC Tour now after earning his tour card at the beginning of 2022, but aside from a Players Championship victory in his first year on the circuit, hasn’t been able to establish himself as contender for the big events.
Having said that, the Welshman is ranked inside the top 50 in the world and has reached the third round at Alexandra Palace in the last two years, notably defeating Peter Wright 3-0 last year. 2024 hasn’t been his strongest year but the former BDO World Championship finalist is capable of averaging over 100 on his day.
Filipino thrower Paolo Nebrida finished third on the Asian Tour Order of Merit in 2024, winning four events and reaching a further two finals, and he’ll be appearing on the Ally Pally stage for the third year in succession.
Both his previous entries ended in opening round defeats, but he certainly wasn’t swept aside, losing 3-2 to both Danny Jansen and Simon Whitlock, and he gave a good account of his ability on both occasions.
As stated, Williams hasn’t made much impact on tour this year but the Welshman tends to perform well on the big stage and should have too much for Nebrida in Wednesday's opener.
