Jessica Pegula vs Moyuka Uchijima prediction
Jessica Pegula was not at her best but still cruised to a comfortable 6-2 6-2 win over Eva Lys in the previous round. The American third seed remains one of the favourites for the title and has the world number two ranking in sight if she maintains her performance level for the rest of the clay court season.
She takes on Moyuka Uchijima who continued her run at the tournament with yet another three-set win, outlasting 2022 Madrid Open champion and 26th seed Ons Jabeur to win 4-6 6-3 6-4. The Japanese player is steadily improving this season and certainly will be no pushover for Pegula.
Nevertheless, the American already has a clay court title to her name this season and her current record on the surface this year is 7-1. Uchijima will battle away and the first set is likely to be crucial, but Pegula is good value to wrap this up in straight sets.
Jessica Pegula vs Moyuka Uchijima tip: Jessica Pegula to win 2-0
