Jessica Pegula vs Danielle Collins prediction

Jessica Pegula strolled through her third-round match at the event with a 6-3 6-2 win over Ajla Tomljanovic. A very strong first serve percentage of 88% contributed to her comfortable victory, and she now faces Danielle Collins in the quarter-finals.

Collins also won in straight sets, beating 2017 finalist Jelena Ostapenko 7-5 6-3 and the defending champion is now on an eight-game unbeaten streak at the event. 

Pegula does dominate the head-to-head, leading 5-0 with four of them being in straight sets. Their only match on clay occurred two years ago in the first round at the French Open, with Pegula winning 6-4 6-2.

Collins clearly enjoys playing in Charleston and this could be a very hard-fought match, but Pegula is in good form having made the final in Miami less than a week ago, and we’re backing the number one seed to come through and extend her winning record against her opponent.
