Jessica Bouzas Maneiro vs Magdalena Frech prediction

Jessica Bouzas Maneiro has threatened in both of her clay court events so far this season but struggled to make a full breakthrough. She could only reach the quarter-finals of the WTA 125k event in Antalya as the second seed while she picked up good wins over Maria Sakkari and Varvara Gracheva in Rouen before losing tamely to Elina Svitolina, who would go on to win the tournament.

She did easily get through her first-round match here, beating Mayar Sherif 6-3 6-1 without even giving up a break point. Magdalena Frech has not had the best of seasons since making the third-round of the Australian Open and was easily beaten by Jessica Pegula in the second-round of the Stuttgart Open. 

The head-to-head is 1-1, with Frech winning their last encounter in Cincinnati last year but Bouzas Maneiro won their only match on clay in 2022 when the Pole was forced to retire. We think this match will prove to be pretty close as Bouzas Maneiro has some momentum on the surface in comparison to her opponent despite being lower ranked.
