Jermaine Wattimena vs Stefan Bellmont Prediction

Dutchman Jermaine Wattimena comes into the World Championships after a solid year which saw him reach his first major PDC final as he finished runner-up to Richie Edhouse at the European Championship.

His record in this competition is not great but he has reached the third round on two occasions previously. He reached the second round last year before losing to Martin Schindler.

He meets Stefan Bellmont who becomes the first Swiss player to play at the World Championships. The 35-year-old will be fired up to get a win on his debut but this will be a tough test for him. he has represented his country at the World Cup of Darts on a number of occasions so he will not be phased by the occasion.

Wattimena should have too much quality for Bellmon but as is always the case in this format, whoever makes the best start could well take control of this tie. Wattimena should be grab the win however.
