Jelena Ostapenko vs Iga Swiatek Prediction

After a difficult couple of months on the Singles circuit, Jelena Ostapenko has really stepped up her game in Qatar, the 27-year-old yet to drop a set in her four matches. Indeed, the Latvian was particularly impressive in her 6-2, 6-2 win over fourth seed Jasmine Paolini in the round of 16 and she followed that up with an identical scoreline against Ons Jabeur in the last eight.

Iga Swiatek, though, has an almost unbeatable aura at the Qatar Open having won each of the last three editions of the tournament. She has been tested this week, most notably by Linda Noskova in the round of 16, but Swiatek had all the answers when she needed them and she has grown in confidence throughout the event.

Ostapenko is certainly playing at a level that can trouble the world number two, and it would be no surprise to see her win a set, but Swiatek has the Midas touch in Qatar and is fancied to progress to the final.
