Jelena Ostapenko vs Iga Swiatek prediction

Iga Swiatek will bid to end her hoodoo against Jelena Ostapenko in a battle of French Open champions in Stuttgart.

The second seed has never beaten the Latvian in five previous meetings but will hope to end that run when they face-off on clay for the first time. 

Swiatek has only ever lost once at the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix and incredibly has only been beaten in six matches on the dirt in her career in premier-tier tournaments. 

The Pole warmed up for this with a routine 6-2 6-2 success over Jana Fett while Ostapenko found a final-set hot streak to down seventh seed Emma Navarro 7-5 3-6 6-2.

Swiatek is a clear favourite with the bookies but given Ostapenko has been her form of tennis kryptonite in recent times, a bet on it going the distance or taking a punt on the Latvian pulling off the shock may have better value.
