He overcame Thiago Seyboth Wild in the first round in a three-set tussle and now faces Jaime Faria.

The Portuguese 21-year-old has played three matches to reach this stage as he had to play qualifying over the weekend. He was actually eliminated by Juan Manuel Cerundolo on Sunday but received a lucky loser spot and took advantage of that. He beat Marcelo Tomas Barrios Vera on Tuesday to earn his round of 16 clash.
