Jaqueline Amorim vs Polyana Viana prediction

After suffering the first loss of her professional MMA career on her UFC debut, Jaqueline Amorim (9-1) has responded impressively winning her last three fights in the Octagon. The most impressive part of her resume is that she has stopped all nine opponents with seven submissions and two knockouts and that finishing ability is rare in this division.

As she looks for her fourth successive win, she now takes on fellow Brazilian Polyana Viana (13-7) in Kansas City on Saturday. Viana has lost her last two and three of her last four fights but the fact she was stopped in her last two will be something of a concern to her. She has had 16 months out since her TKO loss last time out at the hands of Gillian Robertson and will be hoping that time out benefits her as she looks to reset.

Viana has an impressive series of stoppages herself with all 13 of her wins coming before the final bell with five knockouts and eight submissions. The only four times she has heard the final bell, she has been on the receiving end of a decision loss.

All the momentum is with Amorim coming into this one and while this does represent another step up in quality of opponent for her, she has levels to go still.

We would not rule out this one going the distance but it is hard to see and the fact it is two Brazilians meeting, will likely only heighten the intensity of this fight. Amorim is the clear favourite and we expect her to get the stoppage once again.

Prediction: Jaqueline Amorim to win by KO/TKO or submission
