Jannik Sinner & Matteo Berrettini vs Maximo Gonzalez & Andres Molteni Prediction

Italy have decided to go with Jannik Sinner and Matteo Berrettini rather than their doubles pairing of Simone Bolelli and Andrea Vavassori which is somewhat surprising.

They are banking on the two singles stars to dominant on their serve and do enough on their return games to make the difference and it is hard to argue with that strategy.

Berrettini has played a good amount of doubles this year since returning to fitness and with the world number one, they will expect to have too much quality.

That said, it is not always that simple as the Americans found out earlier today as they threw in Tommy Paul and Ben Shelton rather than their tried and trusted doubles pairing and they subsequently lost.

They meet Argentine pairing Maximo Gonzalez and Andres Molteni who are a solid doubles duo. They have been playing together consistency for the last three years and have enjoyed good success. During that time they have won eight ATP Tour doubles events.

They are going to have to return well and hope they can snatch something while trying to benefit from any lack of cohesion between Sinner and Berrettini. We typically do not like this kind of move as we tipped earlier in Australia’s favour when USA attempted to go with the singles stars. However, the Argentine duo are unlikely to be quite good enough to capitalise on it and we just favour the Italians here.

Jannik Sinner & Matteo Berrettini (ITA) vs Maximo Gonzalez & Andres Molteni (ARG) Tip: Italy to win
