JAMEY-LYN HORTH: BRITISH COLUMBIA NATIVE AIMS TO BOUNCE BACK FROM FIRST LOSS

Jamey-Lyn Horth (6-1), a native of British Columbia, Canada, will be desperate to bounce back from her first professional MMA loss on home turf here. The 34-year-old suffered a split decision defeat to Veronica Hardy at UFC on ESPN 52 last December and she now returns aiming to get back to winning ways. Prior to that she had won all six fights including her UFC debut in April 2023 against Hailey Cowan. With plenty of friends and family in the crowd in Edmonton, she will be fired up to get back in the win column.

IVANA PETROVIC: NORWEGIAN FLYWEIGHT LOOKING FOR SUCCESSIVE WINS IN OCTAGON

Ivana Petrovic (7-1) is coming off a submission win last time against Na Liang at UFC on ESPN 55 in April as she looks for back-to-back wins in the Octagon. She lost on her UFC debut in July 2023 as she lost a unanimous decision to Luana Carolina, but she responded with a win on her return and she will now look to follow that up and improve her 7-1 record.

JAMEY-LYN HORTH VS IVANA PETROVIC PREDICTION

The prelims get underway at UFC Fight Night 246 in Edmonton with a home favourite to get the crowd going and Jamey-Lyn Horth will be desperate to get the win.

She is favoured by the bookmakers but the odds are perhaps a little steep given they have similar records and experience in the UFC.

Horth has arguably fought at a higher level prior to the UFC and that could well make the difference. Her loss last time out was a close one on the scorecards and with home support firmly on her side, we think that should just about tip this in her favour.

There is little value in betting on her straight up, but consider her to win on the scorecards for extra value.

PREDICTION: JAMEY-LYN HORTH TO WIN VIA DECISION
