Jakub Mensik vs Learner Tien Prediction
Jakub Mensik comes into the Next Gen ATP Finals as one of the favourites for the tournament this week after an impressive 2024 on the ATP Tour. He registered some good wins over quality opponents like Andrey Rublev, Grigor Dimitrov and Felix Auger-Aliassime and showed that he can mix it with some to the best on the Tour.
He ended the year at a career-high 48 in the world with a 25-17 record as the talented Czech player has enjoyed a breakout year. He will be eager to put a marker down in this tournament and show he is one of the best young players on the Tour.
He meets Learner Tien in the opening match and the 19-year-old American had an outstanding 2024, largely on the ATP Challenger Tour. He won three titles in 2024 on the Challenger and has risen to 122 in the world rankings. He had a brief taste of life on the ATP Tour with a handful of matches and this will be a good tournament for him to see where he is at compared to some of the other young talents around.
Mensik has to be favoured coming into this one. The Czech star is one of a handful of young players from the country who have emerged and proved they can mix it with the best. Barring any signs of complacency, Mensik should get the win and with relative ease.
