Jailton Almeida: Number six ranked heavyweight aiming to get into title shot contention
Jailton Almeida (21-3) has enjoyed some run of form in recent years as he has lost only one fight in his last 17 bouts. That defeat came at the heavy hands of Curtis Blades in March 2024 but he comes off a submission win over Alexander Romanov in June. He has an incredible record of stoppages with just two of his 24 bouts going the distance and 15 of his wins have come in the first round.
Serghei Spivac: Moldovan star looking for fifth win in six bouts
Sergey Spivac (17-4) has two Performance of the Night displays in his last three fights and he will be looking to get a win against another contender here. His only losses in the last few years have come against some of the best in the division in Tom Aspinall and Ciryl Gane, and he has picked up some excellent wins over the likes of Derrick Lewis and Marcin Tybura. A win here will catapult the Moldovan up the rankings.
Jailton Almeida vs Serghei Spivac Prediction
This is a quality fight in the heavyweight division and it is hard to see how this bout between Jailton Almeida and Serghei Spivac goes the distance.
Both of these fighters are absolute killers and it will be interesting to see how both men approach this one. While they are both renowned for their stoppages, they have also both been knocked out so that vulnerability only adds to the intrigue in this bout.
Almeida is the man we marginally prefer to get the win as he could knock Spivac out and is just as dangerous on the ground. Spivac carries a similar threat himself so it will be interesting to see who can impose their will.
The odds on Almeida are not overly appealing but take him to win by KO or submission, while consider taking the fight not to go the distance.
Prediction: Jailton Almeida to win by KO/TKO or submission
