Jacqueline Cristian will compete in her first event since winning the Puerto Vallarta Open. The Romanian won the tournament as the number one seed and picked up her first ever WTA Challenger event in the process. She must take a lot of confidence from that as she transitions to clay, with Diane Parry her opponent in the first-round.

Parry simply hasn’t got going yet on the tour this season, amidst some injury concerns, with just three tournaments played and no wins coming from any of them. This is in stark contrast to 2024, which started with her making the third round of the Australian Open and then making three WTA semi-finals throughout the year. Her ranking has dropped to nearly being outside the top 100.
