Jacob Fearnley vs Nick Kyrgios Prediction
Despite nursing an injury, Nick Kyrgios is set to feature at the Australian Open after missing the tournament for the past two years. He’s sure to get a raucous reception from the home crowd and represents extremely dangerous opposition for that reason alone. Kyrgios is the sort of player who will feed off the energy and support of the fans.
Jacob Fearnley is no stranger to these big draws. The Brit drew Novak Djokovic in the first round of Wimbledon last year and whilst he was beaten, Fearnley managed to take a set from Djokovic. However, he had the crowd fully behind him that occasion. This time, it’ll be the opposite with a hostile reception for him likely.
It would be no surprise if Kyrgios wasn’t at his best here, he’s unlikely to be fully fit with an injury having troubled him leading up to the tournament, which could have an impact. However, whilst Fearnley is capable is taking a set from the Australian, it would be a surprise if Kyrgios wasn’t to come out on top.
Jacob Fearnley vs Nick Kyrgios Tip: Nick Kyrgios to win 3-1
