Jacob Fearnley vs Joao Fonseca Prediction

Jacob Fearnley has not played much since the Australian Open but he will take plenty of encouragement from his performances in Melbourne. The 23-year-old Brit upset Nick Kyrgios in the first round and then went on to beat Arthur Cazaux before being eliminated by Alexander Zverev.

He followed that up with an appearance in a Challenger tournament in France where he got to the quarters but that is his only tennis of late. He will now hope to make an impact at Indian Wells.

He faces a tough opener as he meets 18-year-old Brazilian revelation Joao Fonseca. Making his debut at Indian Wells, Fonseca will be fired up for this and his first ATP title win in Buenos Aires a couple of weeks ago will only serve to boost his confidence yet further.

Fonseca will be desperate to do well and we expect him to get off to a winning start in this one. Fearnley has ability on his day but Fonseca has all the momentum right now.
