Jack Jenkins: Aussie star looking for 11th win in 12 fights
Jack Jenkins (13-3) bounced back last time out to pick up a TKO win over Herbert Burns at UFC 305 in August. That came after a disappointing loss where he verbally has to retire from his bout with Jose Mariscal after he suffered a severe arm injury as he defended a throw. That is his only loss in his last 11 fights and the Aussie has been on a tear in the last few years. After coming through the Contender Series in September 2022, Jenkins has won three and suffered that freak loss and he will be looking for a win in front of his home fans to catapult him up the rankings here.
Gabriel Santos: Brazilian looking to build on first UFC win
Gabriel Santos (11-2) grabbed himself a vital unanimous decision win last time out as he beat Zha Yi at UFC Fight Night 242. That was his first win in the UFC at the third attempt of asking after he lost his first two bouts. He was on the wrong end of a split decision against Lerone Murphy at UFC 286 on his debut and then suffered a knockout loss at the hands of David Onana. After more than a year out, he returned to face Zha Yi and he got the win as he went back to basics to a degree to grind it out. He will now look to build on that and get a second win under his belt.
Jack Jenkins vs Gabriel Santos Prediction
This bout between Jack Jenkins and Gabriel Santos is the last fight on the prelims and it could well be the best one.
Jenkins will have home support firmly behind him and he has the edge in momentum. Santos is the favourite with the bookies but this really is one of those bouts that could go either way.
We like the value that exists on Jenkins as the underdog here but our play is on backing this one to go the distance. Santos found a recipe that worked to grind out the win last time out and Jenkins will not find it easy trying to stop Santos.
Prediction: Fight to go the distance
