Jack Draper vs Marcos Giron prediction

Jack Draper is set for his first singles match in over two weeks when he plays his second-round match in Monte-Carlo. His Miami Open never got going, as he fell to defeat against Jakub Mensik in his first match since the biggest title of his career at Indian Wells. Mensik would go on to win the entire event.

Draper now moves to the red clay, and the British number one has spoken in the buildup of his desire to prove himself on the surface, having not managed the same success on clay in his young career as he has on hard courts. 

His opponent will be Marcos Giron, who advanced through to the second round with a 6-2 7-6 (5) win against Denis Shapovalov. The American produced a solid defensive performance to tame the big-hitting Canadian, raising his game in the second set tiebreak and bringing up match point with a stunning forehand pass.

Draper has won both of their previous encounters, at the Australian and Stuttgart Opens last year, but this is the first time they’ve played each other on clay. We expect the Briton to make it through but Giron may pose a few questions.
